Kiln-drying the beech reduces the wood's moisture content, ensuring it moves less in environments with fluctuating humidity and temperature and does not warp over time; this is particularly important for kitchens and dining areas. How to Choose the Varnish Tone?
The varnish tone is the most visible decision that determines whether the chair fits the room. We recommend viewing the sample in the space's own light; the same varnish reads differently in daylight and evening lighting. The most frequent request in custom production is the varnish tone. In wooden chairs, the tone reads differently depending on the grain density, even on the same wood; therefore, if you have a table, we suggest matching the tone accordingly, or deciding based on a sample if you do not. We determine the varnish tone, upholstery fabric, and dimensions according to the order, and keep a record of the tone we provided; this allows us to prepare the same chair in the same tone for a follow-up order a year later.
Care and Cleaning
Care directly affects the lifespan of a wooden chair. We recommend wiping the wooden surface with a damp cloth and drying it with a dry cloth without letting spills sit. For upholstered models, we recommend dry cleaning. The part of the chair that gets the most "tired" is not the surface, but the connection between the leg and the seat; tightening the screws at this point once a year prevents the chair from starting to wobble over the years. Renewing the felt pads on the bottom of the legs also protects both the floor and the joint. Keeping the chair away from direct sunlight preserves the texture; alcohol, bleach, and abrasive substances should be avoided during cleaning.
