Making the right choice in a bar chair starts with height. We recommend a seat height of 65 cm for kitchen island counters and 75 cm for high bistro and bar tables. Types of Bar Chairs
Wooden Bar Chair
Our wooden bar chairs are produced from 1st-class beech wood, where the moisture content is reduced to the lowest level through kiln-drying. Kiln-dried beech works less and does not warp over time in environments with moisture and temperature changes, such as kitchens. Since filling and polishing processes are applied to the wooden surfaces, the frame is resistant to scratches, and you can determine the polish color according to your order. For example, in the Wishbone model, the backrest is woven with natural cane. The frame measures 55x55x105 cm and weighs 7 kg. Metal Bar Chair
Our metal bar chairs are produced from high-quality metal with high-traffic cafe and restaurant counters in mind. We offer chrome-plated, painted, and antique brass color options for the metal surface; these coatings both adapt to the style of the space and protect the surface against heavy daily contact. Our metal models, such as Ellis, can be adapted to both modern and classic spaces with these different finishes. Cane Bar Chair
In our cane bar chairs, the backrest or body is prepared with natural cane weaving and is usually combined with a kiln-dried beech skeleton. The woven surface is suitable for cafes and home kitchens looking for a warm and breathable texture. In the Cesca Antique Cane Bar Chair, a kiln-dried beech frame, natural cane on the back and seat, and a chrome-plated metal frame are used together. Upholstered Bar Chair
In our upholstered bar chairs, the seat surface is covered with fabric or leather. Bar chairs should be evaluated in two main scenarios: home and commercial use, as these two types of use have different priorities.

In home use, a bar chair is mostly chosen as a kitchen island chair. How to Choose a Bar Chair?
Correct Height
As the correct height is the most critical step in the selection, it must be emphasized again. If your counter is approximately 90 cm, a 65 cm seat height is appropriate; if it is 105-110 cm, a 75 cm seat height is suitable. The 25-30 cm gap left between the counter and the seat surface determines knee clearance and all-day sitting comfort. If you are unsure, simply sending us your counter measurement before ordering is sufficient.
Material and Space Harmony
We recommend following a concrete path for material and space harmony. Metal stands out for high-turnover cafes and bars; upholstery for long-seating hotels and restaurants; and wood or cane frames for warm and natural home kitchens. With or Without Arms?
Choosing between armrests and armless depends on the duration of use. Models with armrests provide comfort during long sittings with back and arm support; they are preferred in places where guests stay longer, such as hotel bars and restaurants. Armless models are more practical in narrow kitchens and commercial areas that are frequently rearranged and moved because they tuck fully under the counter.
How Many Are Needed?
In planning the quantity, we recommend leaving 60-70 cm of width per person at a kitchen island or bar counter. For example, 2-3 bar chairs fit comfortably on a 180 cm long counter; this number decreases slightly with armrest models. In project work, providing the total counter length allows us to determine the right quantity together. We recommend placing chairs on straight edges rather than the corner on counters that turn corners; knee space narrows from both directions at the seating point that coincides with the corner.
Footrest and Sitting Duration
Because feet do not touch the floor in a bar chair, the footrest bar is the defining piece of comfort. In models with a footrest, weight is distributed to the legs, and the difference becomes apparent as the sitting duration increases. We recommend prioritizing this detail in spaces where guests stay for a long time, such as hotel bars and restaurants. For short-term use, such as a breakfast bar, forms that emphasize simplicity are sufficient. In metal models, the footrest bar also provides additional rigidity to the frame.
Backrest or Stool?
Bar stools and bar chairs with backrests serve different needs. Stools without backrests save space in narrow kitchens and high-turnover bar lines because they tuck fully under the counter. Models with backrests provide lumbar support during long sittings; that is why they are preferred in restaurant and hotel bars. Maintenance and Cleaning
Maintenance varies by material, and proper maintenance significantly extends the life of the product. For wooden and metal surfaces, we recommend wiping stains immediately with a damp cloth or sponge, then drying with a dry cloth. For upholstered models, we recommend dry cleaning. In all models, alcohol, bleach, or abrasive substances should be avoided, and the product should be kept away from direct sunlight. In case of liquid contact, wiping the surface immediately with a dry cloth is sufficient. In cane-woven models, removing dust from between the weaves with a dry brush helps the texture remain tight for a long time.
