Bar Table Height and Compatibility with Bar Stools
The main feature that distinguishes a bar table from other tables is its height. The height of the bar table also determines the seat height of the chair to be used with it. While a standard dining table is around 75 centimeters, bar tables are produced at 105-110 centimeters in height; models compatible with kitchen island countertops are around 90 centimeters. This height is designed for use while standing or with a bar stool. When buying a bar table along with a bar stool, leaving a 25-30 centimeter gap between the table surface and the seating surface ensures comfortable use. Therefore, bar stools with a seat height of 75 centimeters for bar counters and 65 centimeters for kitchen islands are suitable.

Home and Kitchen Bar Tables
Bar table models vary according to their place of use. A home-type bar table is used on the bar line separating the kitchen from the living room or as an extension of an island countertop. This arrangement, also known as a bar-type kitchen table or bar kitchen table, takes up less space than a classic dining table. In narrow kitchens, wall-mounted bar table solutions create a slender workspace along the counter line.
Cafe and Bistro Bar Tables
In cafe and bar venues, high bar table and bistro bar table forms are suitable for social use while standing. Round bar table models facilitate passage in narrow spaces with their cornerless structure. Wooden bar table options harmonize with the wooden surfaces of the kitchen.
Will It Be Used Standing or Sitting?
Just as much as the height of the bar table, how it will be used determines the model. A table planned for standing use may have no chairs at all; in this case, the tabletop width and how many people can stand around the table come to the fore. For a bar table that will be used while sitting, the chair height and legroom are decisive. For events and cocktail arrangements, standing use is mostly preferred; for a daily breakfast bar, a seating arrangement is set up.
Leg Type and Legroom
The leg type directly affects how many people the table will serve. In business and project use, the bar table creates an arrangement suitable for standing and social use in venues such as cafes, bars, lounges, and hotels. High tables are preferred for cocktail and event areas due to their structure suitable for standing use. This arrangement, where guests chat while standing, offers a practical solution in high-turnover venues. In these high-traffic areas, a wooden body offers a durable option. Custom Production
The most functional aspect of custom production for a bar table is height. Since kitchen islands, countertops, and bar counters are at different heights, a ready-made table is off by a few centimeters in most spaces. We can shorten or lengthen the leg according to your existing counter height, and we determine the leg form and cut dimensions accordingly. Measuring and sending us your counter height is sufficient for the table to stand at the right level from day one.
Measuring Counter Height Correctly
Taking the measurement incorrectly is the most common problem when buying a bar table. We recommend always measuring the height from the finished floor to the top surface of the board. If a surface coating is to be applied on top of the kitchen counter later, this thickness should also be taken into account. If you are planning a bar table adjacent to an island kitchen counter, having the two surfaces at the same level looks visually cleaner; if a stepped arrangement is desired, the difference should be at least 10-15 cm.

How Many People to Plan For?
Calculating the number of people according to the tabletop dimension shows from the start whether the bar line will be useful or not. In our project planning, we base it on allocating approximately 60 cm of tabletop edge per person. Accordingly, three people can sit comfortably at a 180 cm long bar line. In round models, the calculation is made based on the circumference. This allowance is more flexible for cocktail tables to be used standing, because guests stand surrounding the table.
Layout in Cafe Arrangements
In cafes and bars, the distance between tables directly determines service speed. On high tables, the area occupied when chairs are pulled back is larger than standard tables. We recommend basing your planning on the state of the chairs when they are pulled back. Leaning the bar line against the wall makes circulation easier during busy hours by leaving the middle area free.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Maintenance directly affects the life of the bar table. We recommend wiping the wooden surface with a damp cloth and drying it with a dry cloth without letting stains set. Keeping the bar table away from direct sunlight preserves the texture; alcohol, bleach, and abrasive substances should be avoided during cleaning, and coasters should be used for hot vessels. In cafe use, the place where glass marks are most frequently seen is the tabletop edge; wiping this area quickly after service ensures that the surface remains well-maintained for a long time.
