Material and Durability: Why Does the Type of Wood Matter?
The most critical point in choosing a sun lounger is the type and thickness of the wood. Since a sun lounger is constantly exposed to sun, moisture, and outdoor weather conditions, products made from wood that is not sufficiently thick and sturdy will not be long-lasting. For this reason, we produce our sun loungers from 1st-class kiln-dried hornbeam wood. Hornbeam is a species suitable for outdoor use due to its hard and durable structure; the kiln-drying process reduces the wood's moisture content, minimizing warping and bending over time. We recommend paying attention to the product's weight and the type of wood used when buying a sun lounger, as products made with lightweight and thin materials can wear out within a season or two.
Structure and Features
Foldable Structure
A foldable structure is one of the most practical features of a sun lounger. The Babil sun lounger, a foldable model, can be easily folded and stored at the end of the season and conveniently carried around the garden when needed. This provides both ease of storage and extends the product's life by preventing it from remaining outdoors during winter. The dimensions of foldable sun loungers increase in the reclining position; for example, the Babil model is used at a height of 122 centimeters and a depth of 97 centimeters.
Color and Size
In addition to standard colors and sizes, we can also produce items in different colors and sizes according to your order. The standard color of the Babil sun lounger is in walnut tones; due to the nature of natural wood, color and texture differences may appear in every product, which is a reflection of the wood's unique texture. Cushions and Comfort
For comfort, a cushion can be added to the sun lounger. Usage with a cushion provides extra comfort for pool-side and terrace areas where one lies down for long periods. You can determine the cushion fabric according to your space and choose a texture suitable for outdoor use.
Selecting Cushion Fabric
The cushion fabric is the second material that determines how the sun lounger performs outdoors. For a product used by the pool with wet swimwear, the fabric must have a quick-drying and colorfast texture. The fact that the cover is removable makes washing it during the season easy. We also recommend choosing the cushion thickness according to the duration of use: in areas where you lie down for long periods, a thicker cushion makes a noticeable difference.
Size and Space Planning
A sun lounger is a product used for lying down; therefore, the space it occupies is significantly larger than a chair. Our Babil model measures 122 × 60 × 97 cm and weighs 9 kg. When planning your pool-side or terrace area, we recommend leaving a gap at least the width of a side table between sun loungers; this space provides both for passage and a place to put drinks. It is also necessary to take into account that the product extends backward when the backrest is opened.
Weight and Portability
A weight of nine kilograms means the sun lounger can be carried by a single person. This is decisive in daily operations for hotels and hostels: the task of collecting them in the evening and placing them in the morning can be carried out by one person. Thanks to the foldable structure, the product occupies a smaller volume during transport. When planning storage space for bulk purchases, we recommend considering both the thickness when folded and the number of stacked units.

Home Use
In home use, a sun lounger creates a relaxation and sunbathing corner in the garden, on the terrace, balcony, or by the pool. Foldable models save space on balconies and terraces with limited room, as they can be stored when not in use. We recommend leaving a comfortable passage gap between two sun loungers when placing them side by side. Wood-framed sun loungers add a warm look to garden and terrace layouts with their natural texture.
Commercial and Project Use (Hotels, Pools)
In commercial and project use, a sun lounger must withstand heavy use in hotel pools, beaches, spas, and apartment gardens. Material durability is the priority for sun loungers used all day and throughout the season in these venues; a kiln-dried hornbeam frame ensures longevity in such intensive use. The foldable structure allows a large number of sun loungers to be easily collected and stored at the end of the season. In hotel and facility projects, we can produce a large number of sun loungers in the same size and color.

How to Choose a Sun Lounger?
Selection Criteria
To choose the right sun lounger, we recommend looking at a few concrete points. The first is material and weight: for a long life outdoors, a hard and sufficiently thick wood such as kiln-dried hornbeam should be preferred. The second is the area of use; durability comes to the fore for pool-sides and areas constantly exposed to the sun, while foldability is prioritized for limited spaces. The third is comfort; the use of cushions increases comfort in sun loungers that will be used for lying down for long periods.
End-of-Season Storage
The most important factor determining the life of a sun lounger is how it is stored during the months it is not in use. A foldable structure provides a significant advantage in this regard: at the end of the season, products can be folded and taken to an indoor space. If there is no indoor space, we recommend covering the sun loungers while folded so that they do not come into direct contact with the ground; the tips of the legs that are in constant contact with wet ground are the areas that wear out fastest. Cushions should be stored separately and put away after they are completely dry.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Maintenance directly affects the life of the sun lounger. We recommend wiping the wood surface with a damp cloth without letting stains sit, and then drying it with a dry cloth. For models with cushions, we recommend dry cleaning. Even though it is an outdoor product, protecting the sun lounger from direct and constant sun and precipitation during periods when it is not in use, and folding it and storing it in a shaded area, preserves the wood's color and texture for a long time. Alcohol, bleach, and abrasive substances should be avoided during cleaning.
